Jade Eagle Characters

Chenza Malvari
First-ever Paragon of the Jade Eagle entity Vespes, Chenza Malvari channeled her entity's wisdom and precision into every lethal attack she performed. Harnessing her chi under Vespes's guidance was no easy task, but years of dedication and study molded her into one of the most capable warriors in the history of Zaia. Whether it was a swift high kick to the head or a perfectly-timed sweep of the leg, Chenza was a force to be reckoned with in the heat of battle - a blur of controlled fury and fatal precision. Her legacy lives on today through the monks at the Temple of Vespes, inspiring them to give their all in the noble pursuit of honing their bodies and mastering their use of chi.
"There is no victory without patience; there is no patience without wisdom."
Kal-Ten
The Emerald Hope of the Jade Eagle Empire, and the final Paragon of Vespes before The Great Fall. Kal-Ten was chosen by the Jade Eagle Council to replace the previous Paragon as war was on the horizon. Before being chosen, Kal-Ten made a name for himself as a powerful warrior with an immense amount of Chi and for his Vivid visions of the far future. Known for his incredible combat expertise with Corax-cored Tonfas, he kept Vesperia and its Magic Artifacts safe until just before The Great Fall, when he disappeared.
“Violence against our people will not be tolerated. If this is something you cannot understand, then perhaps my tonfas can get it through your skull.”

Ji-Ann
A skilled Jade Eagle soothsayer with a massive amount of Chi. She could even empower Chi users from a distance as long as they had Corax on their person. When Kal-Ten vanished, she stepped up as acting Paragon, taking on all the responsibilities that he shirked. After the Great Fall, she guided the Jade Eagle Empire into focusing on honing their Chi and Corax to ensure that the empire would not crumble even with the loss of other Magics.
“The Jade Eagles must be able to flow like chi. No matter the setback, we will overcome and show the world our true strength.”
Goodwhen Nash
When the people of Zaia think of blood magic, they think of dark rituals and hooded figures but they couldn’t be more wrong. Don't let this champion’s nervous demeanor and small frame fool you. When he evokes his elemental magic, you won’t want to find yourself on the receiving end of his wrath.

Pitiless Monk
After years of perfecting their mental and martial abilities at the Temple of Vespes, Jade Eagle monks have sharpened both their bodies and minds into lethal weapons. Unlike other warriors, their greatest advantage in combat is their mastery of the energy within: their chi. Because self-control is one of the most important tenets of the Temple, the rigorous training that allows a monk to control and utilize their inner chi involves just as much meditation and study as it does fighting. A true Jade Eagle monk wastes no energy on egotistical displays of strength, but rather waits for the perfect moment to strike.
"The deadliest blade has two sides: fury and patience."
Jade Soothsayer
Since the dawn of the Jade Eagle Empire, citizens and high council members alike have turned to Soothsayers for their discernment and foresight. Having harnessed their chi under the guidance of the Jade priesthood, Soothsayers peer through the veil of time to predict the future, often using this to their advantage in combat. By letting their wisdom guide their strikes, they remain one step ahead of the enemy at every turn. In their search for true enlightenment, these powerful Oracles further the will of Vespes with every divine prophecy shared.
"To look ahead is to look within."

Highwind Taxotai
Among the deadliest of warriors, the Highwind archers are the silent talons in the night. Rumored to be able to grant themselves enhanced eyesight through focusing their chi, these archers can spot targets from shocking distances once engaged. Their arrows strike true in even the most precarious of conditions, descending upon their victims like a diving eagle. One would do well to be wary of angering these snipers, because once they're on the hunt, all there is to do is wait - and maybe pray.
"No evil lies beyond the sight of an Eagle."
Emerald Fledgling
To be a young scout of the Jade Eagle Empire is to follow one of the oldest traditions of the Temple of Vespes: to witness the vastness of the world as the eagle does, and find meaningful insight through life experience. The humble scout embarks on a journey of discovery and understanding, letting the world teach them meaning and truth. Much like the Corax Mountains were formed by centuries of wind and rain, the wisdom of Vespes carves patterns into the hearts of her followers as they let the world form them into the monks they were born to be.
"To leave the nest is to learn the greatest truth: that one must fall before one can fly."

Grand Eagle
Soaring high above the Corax Mountains, the mighty symbol of the Jade Eagle Empire surveys its empire with pride. A subtle gleam in its eye reveals the innate wisdom bestowed by the Jade Eagle entity, Vespes, and its majestic wingspan echoes the grandeur of Mytril's expansive borders. Amid the recent rumors that the entities have returned to Zaia, the people of the Jade Eagle Empire turn their gaze to the sky to find a symbol of hope, admiring the quiet strength and elegance of their nation's namesake. Pray it doesn't spot you if you enter Mytril with mal intent.
"As morning light pierces the dawn, so a Jade Eagle's chi illuminates the darkness within."
